The role:

The core purpose of this job function is to be responsible for the completion of MT, VT, RT and PT tests and inspection of products at various stages of the production process, with an emphasis on non-destructive testing. 

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Quality control - ensuring the product quality of materials that are fabricated on the shop floor in a timely manner.

• Reviewing part prints, procedures and work instructions to complete testing.

• Setting up and performing non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

• Completing required paperwork, documenting reports, and corrective/preventative actions.

• Ensuring that the equipment operates correctly.

• Ensuring compliance to the process for the control of records and document control process.

• Participation in problem solving activities, to mitigate the presence of defects identified.

• Setting up and calibrating non-destructive testing equipment as appropriate.

• Providing proactive support and judgement on product quality to production teams.

• Ensuring that the interests of the customer are represented.

• Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

• To comply at all times with the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental policy.

What we’re looking for:

Applications will be considered from candidates who are qualified to PCN Level 2 as a minimum, and who can demonstrate that they can accurately interpret drawings and specifications with the ability to use quality instruments (such as weld gauges, micrometres, steel rulers etc.). It would be advantageous to also be qualified to CSWIP 3.0 (Visual Welding Inspector) with a full UK driving Licence and a valid Passport.
